Ludo on Alex Play Zone

Ludo

Roll, race and capture — the family favourite, online.

Ludo is the game almost every Sri Lankan home has played on a rainy afternoon. On Alex Play Zone you pick your colour, invite a friend with a room code and race all four of your tokens around the board and into your home.

The dice are rolled on our server, so nobody can fix a roll. Play one-on-one, team up with a partner in 2 vs 2, or practise against the computer any time.

Quick rules · 2 players or 2 vs 2 teams

  • Roll a 6 to bring a token out of your yard.
  • A 6, a capture or getting a token home earns another roll — but three 6s in a row ends your turn.
  • Land exactly on an opponent to send them back to their yard. Star and start squares are safe.
  • You need the exact number to reach home. First to bring every token home wins.

Pro tip: Get a second token out early — having a choice of moves lets you capture, dodge danger and use every roll.

Carrom

Flick, pocket and cover the queen with real physics.

Carrom is a Sri Lankan classic, and ours is played on a realistic physics engine: slide your striker along the baseline, pull back like a slingshot and watch the coins scatter exactly as they would on a real board.

Every shot is calculated on the server and replayed identically for every player, so what you see is exactly what happened — no lag tricks, no disputes.

Quick rules · 2 players or 2 vs 2 teams

  • Pocket a coin of your own colour and you shoot again.
  • You may only pocket the red queen after pocketing one of your own coins — then “cover” it on the same or next shot.
  • Pocketing the striker is a foul: your turn ends and one of your coins comes back.
  • Clear all nine of your coins with the queen covered to win the board.

Pro tip: Shallow cut shots drop far more often than thin, fine cuts — pick the side of the baseline that gives the straightest line.

Chess

The classic battle of strategy — against friends or a thinking AI.

Play full-rules chess with castling, en passant and promotion, either against a friend in a private room or against our AI, which looks several moves ahead before it answers.

Every game is saved to your Battle Log, where you can replay it move by move and see how long each move took.

Quick rules · 2 players

  • White moves first; players alternate one move at a time.
  • Each piece moves in its own pattern — the knight is the only piece that jumps.
  • Put the enemy king in check with no escape to win by checkmate.
  • Stalemate, repetition or insufficient material end the game in a draw.

Pro tip: Control the centre early and bring out knights and bishops before moving the same piece twice.

Checkers

Jump, capture and crown your kings.

Quick to learn and endlessly tactical, checkers is played on the dark squares of an 8 × 8 board. Captures are mandatory, so every move can set a trap — or walk into one.

Multi-jump chains are handled for you, and reaching the far side crowns a king that can move both ways.

Quick rules · 2 players

  • Pieces move diagonally forward one square.
  • If you can capture, you must — jump over an opponent onto the empty square beyond.
  • Keep jumping while more captures are available in the same turn.
  • Reach the last row to crown a king. Capture or block every enemy piece to win.

Pro tip: Keep your back row filled as long as you can — it stops your opponent from crowning kings.

Draughts

International rules on a 10 × 10 board with flying kings.

International draughts is the big brother of checkers: a 10 × 10 board, 20 pieces each, backward captures and kings that fly any distance along a diagonal.

The maximum-capture rule means you must always take the longest possible chain — our engine enforces it, so you can focus on planning the combination.

Quick rules · 2 players

  • Men move diagonally forward but may capture forwards and backwards.
  • You must make the capture that takes the most pieces.
  • Kings fly: they move and capture any distance along a diagonal.
  • Capture or block all of your opponent’s pieces to win.

Pro tip: A single flying king is extremely strong — protect the lanes that let you promote first.

Tic-Tac-Toe (XOXO)

Three in a row — quick rounds, anywhere.

The perfect game for a two-minute break. Challenge a friend to a best-of series in a private room, or see if you can beat the bot.

Rounds are fast, so set a “first to five wins” series in the room settings and keep the rivalry going.

  • Players take turns placing X and O on a 3 × 3 grid.
  • Get three of your marks in a row — across, down or diagonally — to win.
  • A full board with no line is a draw.

Is Alex Play Zone free?+

Yes. Every game is free to play, and there are no ads inside the games — nothing interrupts your match.

Do I need to download anything?+

No. The games run in your web browser on Android, iPhone, Windows and Mac. Just open games.alexlanka.com.

Do I need an account?+

No — you can play instantly as a guest. A free account lets you keep XP, climb the leaderboard, add friends and keep your match history.

How do I play with my friends?+

Choose a game, pick “Play with Friend(s)” and create a room. Share the six-letter room code or the invite link; your friends join and the host starts the game.

Can four people play together?+

Yes. Ludo and Carrom can be played by four players as 2 vs 2 teams, with partners sitting opposite each other.

Can someone cheat by fixing the dice?+

No. Dice rolls and every move are handled on our server, and each player only sees the result. What you see is exactly what happened.
