Hardware Accelerated Execution Manager
A virtualization-capable Intel processor is necessary for the Intel HAXM. It will not affect a computer with an AMD CPU whether it is installed or not. In conclusion, installing Intel HAXM is not necessary for using Android Studio.
Why we need HAXM?
If the following conditions are met, the Android emulator will automatically employ hardware acceleration: On your development PC, hardware acceleration is enabled and accessible. An x86-based virtual device system image is being used by the emulator.
